This workshop is an introduction to e-textiles aimed to give participants an understanding of the basic principles of soft electronics. Participants will be introduced to a range of new materials and will explore how these materials can be manipulated to create soft, interactive systems using the Lilypad Arduino: a modular, sewable computer. By the end of the first day participants will have the basic skills to design and program simple soft, interactive systems. These skills will then be applied to the design and development of a smart wearable accessory using the Textile and Design Lab’s FeltLOOM® on the second day of the course.
